What Zügle actually compares

Moving is a guess until someone adds up the numbers. Zügle takes a Swiss apartment you're considering and the home you live in now, and works out the difference in rent, in income tax between the two municipalities, and in commute time and cost, then reduces all three to one figure: what moving would cost or save you per month.

  1. Give it a listing, or a description

Paste a Flatfox link and Zügle reads the rent, rooms and address itself; Homegate blocks automated reading, so paste the page instead and it's read the same way. No link yet? Describe what you're after ("3.5 rooms near Zug under 2500") or type in the figures by hand.

  2. It fills in what a rent alone can't tell you

Behind the rent, Zügle pulls the federal, cantonal and communal income tax for both municipalities from the Federal Tax Administration, and prices the commute by real fare zone or national tariff distance rather than a guess. A figure it can't establish is left out and stated as missing, never quietly counted as zero.

  3. You get one monthly number, and the reasoning behind it

The result page shows the rent difference, the tax delta and the commute change side by side, adds them into a single monthly verdict, and scores the location on commute time, distance to the town centre and to a lake, plus the view and greenery ratings you set yourself. Save it, adjust any figure by hand, or compare a second listing against the same home.

What movers say

People who've made the move share what surprised them about a municipality's tax bill, commute or daily life. Read alongside the figures, not instead of them.
