Who I am

I'm Danilo, a software engineer based in Switzerland.

This started as my own spreadsheet. We were looking at flats one canton over and I could not answer a simple question: after tax and commute, are we actually better off? Working it out by hand once was enough to make me build the thing properly, and it turned out other people were doing the same arithmetic badly.

Moving within Switzerland changes more than the rent. Income tax differs per municipality - federal, cantonal and communal - the commute changes, and the application process itself costs money. Comparing two flats properly meant juggling a tax calculator, a timetable and a spreadsheet.

Zügle turns that into one screen: paste a Flatfox or Homegate link, and get a single verdict on whether moving actually pays off, with every assumption visible and adjustable.

Tax figures come from the Swiss Federal Tax Administration's calculator, commute times from transport.opendata.ch, and listing details from Flatfox or Homegate. The comparison itself - cost deltas, tax deltas and the quality score - is computed here and is fully deterministic.
